Hatamoto: the spirit of loyalty and honor

The warrior reborn

Hatamoto — the legendary protector of Japan’s feudal lords — now rides again in a breathtaking collectible silver coin. This is the second release in The Warrior’s Path series by T&S Coin, following the sold-out Bushido and continuing the journey through the world’s most iconic warrior traditions.

A story told through design

In ancient Japan, the Hatamoto stood as the daimyo’s closest retainer — a warrior bound by absolute loyalty, courage, and discipline. On this coin, he is immortalized as a timeless guardian of honor: mounted on a noble horse, clad in black armor with golden accents, his war mask transforming him into the eternal spirit of battle.

The warrior’s path

Behind him burns the great setting sun, its fiery light casting dramatic shadows across the landscape. In the distance rise the silhouettes of traditional temples, while delicate cherry blossoms bloom in the foreground — symbols of beauty, impermanence, and the fleeting nature of life. Every element of the composition echoes the ideals of the samurai: strength, elegance, and spiritual depth.

Forged in silver

Each Hatamoto coin is struck from two ounces of fine silver (.999) in high relief, finished with an antique surface that enhances every contour. Selective gilding highlights the warrior’s armor and sword, while UV printing adds subtle tones to the background, bringing the sunset and blossoms to life. The obverse carries T&S Coin’s refined common design, uniting the series under a single artistic identity.

The code of honor

Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, Hatamoto stands as a tribute to courage, discipline, and unshakable devotion. It embodies the eternal code of the samurai — the way of loyalty and sacrifice — and reminds us that true strength is forged through purpose and integrity.

Follow the warrior’s path — and carry the spirit of honor within.
